My name is Charlie Bakar, grew up on the Central Coast (small town called Atascadero) and have been in ministry for 20 years as both a Youth Pastor and an Executive Pastor. My family and I felt God's call to come here to Natomas to help start a church because we love that this city because of the trees, the diversity, and that fact that there are so many families that need to learn about the love of Jesus and to discover His purpose for their lives!

Wendy and I have called Natomas home for the past 20 years. This is where we’ve built our roots, raised our family, formed lifelong friendships, and invested deeply in the community we love. From coaching and serving on the Little League board to being involved with PTSA, and our neighborhoods, Natomas has become so much more than where we live—it’s home. I’ve had the privilege of serving on staff at Bayside for the past 13 years, primarily at our Folsom Campus, while Wendy has served as an oncology nurse for Dignity’s health in Sacramento for the past 15 years. To have the opportunity to bring Bayside to the community we love feels like such a full-circle moment. We believe God is doing something special in the greater Sacramento area, and we’re incredibly excited to be part of it.
